Mission Statement

Houston’s First Annual Black & White Boots Ball hosted by Sculptures By Design was a Silent Art Auction and Charity event. In 2003, participating members of the Sculptures By Design art Gallery hosted this highly successful event. This event has remained a social enchantment for art lovers and a charitable success for the community. The Boots Ball-Auction and Charity event’s market-audience encapsulates young professionals between the ages of 25 and 45. As well as, established professionals from 45 and on. Over the past 7 years, the Boots Ball, Art Auction and Charity event has developed a strong committee of knowledgeable members who now come together to form the United Sterling Artists Foundation, Texas based 501 c3. As a newly formed foundation members have set forth greater goals to collectively raise funds for selected charities such as the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center and The Justin Cowboy Crisis Fund of the Pro Rodeo Association. This foundation will also be awarding scholarships and grants to aspiring and established professional artists. The United Sterling Artists Foundation has also worked to develop public-art-works projects, helping reface the local areas with funds raised to donate public works of art. On behalf of those charitable contributions raised throughout the upcoming years, the United Sterling Artists Foundation will help to enhance the value of the surrounding areas and strengthen the communities through support and advancement of the arts.

The formation of the foundation will enable members to combine strengths to raise greater charitable contributions while also doing a greater good for our efforts within our service to the local community and nationally.

The highlights of the charity’s main event of the year include; live entertainment, elegant works of art, which are traditional as well as contemporary, and fine dining. Guests for the evening’s event will experience the ability to further support the charity event and the foundations missions through the silent auction, direct donation, engraved monument stones, new memberships, and raffles. One of the aspects that make the event so special and the community involvement so historical is the placement and unveiling of the planned public-art-works projects that begin in the year 2006. Participants do more than attend events, they actually make history through their charitable efforts with their name or the name of their company boldly displayed at the site of their selected sculpture and public-art-works projects. This is historically, an encouraging and inspiring sight for public awareness of our united efforts.

The United Sterling Artists Foundation members have been committed to spending countless hours developing rewarding and encouraging philanthropic efforts for the sake of the communities we share. We trust you will find your participation to be both an enjoyable and rewarding experience as we work together to make a positive and historical mark on our community and the lives we share.

The 2009 Black and White Boots Ball is a charity art auction supporting the United Sterling Artists Foundation Projects

Houston area artists have come together to exhibit their work, which will be auctioned off during the evening to support two very important organizations:

MD Anderson Cancer Center - Since 1944, almost 700,000 patients have turned to M. D. Anderson for cancer care in the form of surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, immunotherapy or combinations of these and other treatments.

At M. D. Anderson, important scientific knowledge gained in the laboratory is rapidly translated into clinical care. In 2005, the institution spent more than $342 million in research, an increase of approximately 86% in the last five years. M. D. Anderson now ranks first in the number of grants awarded and total amount of grants given by the National Cancer Institute.

The Justin Cowboy Crisis Fund - Proceeds from this year's event will also support the JCCF. The JCCF's premise is to lend a helping hand to professional rodeo athletes and their families in the event of catastrophic injuries resulting from professional rodeo activities.

The 2008 Black & White Boots Ball is organized by the United Sterling Artist Foundation. The foundation membership is composed of sculptors, painters, and artists from around the region. The foundation's mission, Artists Making History and Changing the Face of the Community.
